This song was composed by American contemporary musician John Milton Cage Jr. in 1952.
The musical score specifies a performance time of 4 minutes and 33 seconds, but there are no instructions for the notes the performers should make (only instructions for pauses).
In other words, I just sit in front of the piano for 4 minutes and 33 seconds without making any sounds.
When playing on the piano, the keyboard lid was closed at the beginning of each of the three movements, and the end of each movement was indicated by opening the lid.
The sheet music says that it can be played on any instrument, and there is a video of this song played by an orchestra (?) on You Tube, but it\'s a gag lol
This person ``invented\'\' an instrument called the prepared piano, which is made by sandwiching or placing rubber, metal, wood, etc. on the strings of a grand piano to create a percussion-like sound, and has also composed music for it.
It\'s a sound that makes you realize that the piano is a percussion instrument.
